Chess MMR (chessmmr.com) is made by Cognitive Squad. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site and why.
What we collect
- Account. You sign in with Google through Firebase Authentication. We store your Firebase user id and the sign-in provider. Your Google name, email and photo are used only by the sign-in system and are never shown in a game, leaderboard or stream.
- Game profile. Your handle, emblem, rating (MMR), league, trophies, win/loss record and game history. This is the same profile used by the Chess Play & Learn mobile app.
- Games. Moves, clocks and results of every game you play, kept so both players can review them and so ratings can be verified.
- Voice chat. Audio is sent peer-to-peer between the two players over WebRTC (through a relay when a direct connection is impossible). We never record or store it.
- YouTube. If you connect a channel, we store the OAuth tokens needed to create live broadcasts on your behalf and the stream title/description you enter. You can disconnect at any time from Settings, which deletes the tokens.
- Payments. Subscriptions are processed by Razorpay. We receive the subscription id and status, never your card or bank details.
- Technical. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention.
How we use it
To run games, keep ratings honest, provide the features you ask for (voice, streaming, premium), prevent cheating and abuse, and answer support requests. We do not sell personal data and we do not show advertising.
AI features
The optional “Polish with AI” button sends the stream title and description you typed to OpenAI to improve the wording. Nothing else is sent, and nothing about your games is.
Where data lives
Google Firebase (Mumbai region) and Vercel. Data is retained while your account exists.
Your rights
You can change your handle and emblem in Settings, disconnect YouTube, and cancel Premium at any time. To delete your account and every Cognitive Squad game profile, email support@cognitivesquad.com from the address you sign in with; deletion completes within 30 days.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13.
